Autonomous Tram

The partnership among Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), PT INKA (Persero), and Riset.ai, supported by government funding from LPDP, has led to the development of Autonomous Tram technology designed for mixed-traffic environments. Combining ITB's research strengths, PT INKA's industrial expertise, and Riset.ai's proven ability to deliver advanced AI products, this collaboration has produced an innovative tram system with autonomous features.

Tram Advanced Driver Assistance System

The Advanced Tram Driver Assistance System (Tram ADAS) enhances tram safety with level 2 autonomous technology, supporting operators in mixed-traffic environments. Developed by ITB and PT INKA, it includes a Driver Monitoring System that alerts operators if drowsy or distracted. The Object Detection and Collision Avoidance features detect obstacles in the tram’s path, issuing warnings to prevent accidents. Speed Limit Assist also helps operators maintain safe speeds for a secure

Tram Autonomous Driving System

The Full Autonomous Tram advances Tram ADAS by enabling mostly independent operation with minimal driver assistance. Unlike Tram ADAS, which offers alerts, the Full Autonomous Tram autonomously handles driving tasks using sensors like cameras, lidar, and radar. Key features include Adaptive Cruise Control for safe distancing, Collision Avoidance to prevent accidents, and Emergency Braking for quick stops. With Speed Limit and Traffic Sign Recognition, the tram adjusts speed based on location and rules, providing a secure, fully automated travel experience.
